What's up with this egg?

One of my hen has been laying an egg like that everyday. I think it's from a Barred Rock. Once there was a little hole in it too. Thin shell? If that was the case, why would it be the only hen laying thin shelled eggs?
Thanks and have a beautiful day!

She could use some calcium supplement. What feed do you give? Oyster shell is a good free choice calcium supplement, but don't confuse it with grit, which is granite used to break down feed.

It seems like she isn't getting enough calcium or protein which is making the egg shells thin and rough. She could even be drawing calcium from her bones for the eggs. What feed is she eating? You could give her some oystershells mixer in with her feed or some crushed up "Tums" tablets to give her some extra calcium. Keep watching her and see if she is acting strangely or has stopped laying. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply! I'll try to find some oyster shell. In the mean while ( we live in a remote area northern Canada and are currently isolated since the river is no longer crossable until it gets clear of ice...) I gave them crushed egg shells. I hope it will help.

Thank you! I'll keep an eye out. Not sure which of the 3 BR is doing it. Hope yhe egg shells work until I can find oyster shells. How long do you think it could before I see a change?

Because she's the only one with a wonky shell gland.
If only one bird is laying funky eggs..... it's the bird, not the diet.

What kind of feed are they getting?
Brand and model, or pic of nutrition/ingredient label, please.

Oh, how old is bird?
Has she always laid these kind of eggs?

Actually I am not sure she is the only one. But the other ones are just not as bad. On the thin side for sure. They are new hens, I got them 3 weeks ago and winter is pretty long up here. (Octobre to April). There is a farm in the territory that specialize in feed for farm animals so I just get the feed for layers.
Now they are starting to free range so there will be a bigger variete in the nutriments they are getting and they have crushed shell eggs. I'll try posting a picture of the feed later.
