I have three hens. One started laying 3 days ago for sure. This could be the first eggs from one of my other two girls, but I am not sure. I was wondering if anyone has any idea why the ends of the egg look like this?

Top: Wrinkled

Bottom: Grainy, clear

I've heard that first eggs can be pretty weird but mine aren't laying yet so I guess I'll find out soon enough if that's true.

OK I have never dealt with that particular breed but when my family raised chickens our eggs were odd until we gave the hens oyster shell the eggs were more uniform

First eggs can be weird..... no matter the breed.
It can take up to a month or so for things to smooth out.
Meanwhile, eggs everywhere, some of them can be rather funky looking, soft or thin or wrinkly shelled, huge double yolked eggs.

But just out of curiosity......what are you feeding?

My chickens are on a non medicated feed as well have free access to Oster shells. They also get a handful of scratch in the after noon. We do throw them a handful of grass now and again as well..

Agree with aart. new layers do weird things from time to time. Shell abnormalities are nothing to worry about, and not necessarily a sign of calcium deficiency. A female of pretty much any species can have reproductive abnormalities when things start cycling, and since hens cycle every day there's more opportunity for glitches. Wrinkled, lumps, bumps, ridges, specks, sometime they forget the shell altogether....it's all okay as long as it's not a regular thing.
