lol, I go and visit with all the girls, young and old While i am sitting there the new ones that are about 3 months old start pecking at my back. Not being mean but every now and then they hit a tender spot. I am wondering if they are trying to groom me or does it have another meaning? If I wear my flip flops in they go after my feet. I feel they think they are fat worms.

My chickens have always gone after anything on my clothes that stands out. Especially when they were bored in the winter.

Same here, any small piece of dirt or loose thread. Being in Florida we have mosquitos and my flock love to peck them off my legs and feet.

Mine constantly pick at my clothes and will often nip at my freckles/moles/beauty marks (whatever you call them, lol). They also go after my moms bright green painted toenails, which is hilarious (for me, at least).

I think they just see something on your shirt/back that looks like it might be food to them.

Ok, I do not remember the older ones doing this. Must be the shirt, it does have threads sticking out. Thank you everyone for your replies.

I have to wear shoes in my run cause one of my girls come and scratches at my feet….. And they LOVE to peck at my butt when Im sitting down and loving on one of the other chicks!

My friendly girls peck at my arm or back before they jump up on it. Maybe they are checking to make sure it is solid enough before landing on me. Everyone likes to peck at my shoes or boots especially after I've been walking around in the field. Grass seeds will stick to my shoes and they chickens like to eat them.
