the other is now 5 weeks and well looking like it may be a male as well. As for the 3 Americauana's well how lovely is it to see they all have tthick legs and large combs so my 5 girls i was hoping for has turned into 4 boys

and 1 well I think she is hte only girl tiny and NOT growing AT ALL, NO comb vry skinny legs but she has a very big BUTT problem I mean i don't think the hole lined up properly when I first got her she had poop build up so I cleaned it for a few days which helped then I just noticed this week the poop is now runnign white down the but and its a tiny slice in her skin where it is coming out, looks like someone took some snips and cut the butt when it was young and now is it only healing. The pics of the three americauna and her is a big difference like almost 3 weeks apart it looks but they are all the same age.

Needless to say I am NOT IMPRESSED

From Left to right, we have Black she/he is our issue same age as the chick to its right same with the brown ameracuana/easter egger and white silkie to the far right with Red silkie behind

Sorry for sideways, white silkie Black ameracuana/ester egger both born May 9, BIG SIZE difference Black is the one this post is about.

Black born May 9th

Rear view not too clear, where the but hole is distintly it is NOT coming out of the hole but a slice above, this chick was cleaned about an hour ago it is pooping some black/whiteish poops normal looking but also a lot of white slimes out of little slice.

Tried taking a pic when it was clean but didn't stay clean long enough lol

I really REALLY would like some input. Please.. I need to know what to do as I am still very very new

Aw, that's a shame...it looks like retaining fecal matter in an enlarged sack...I would put it down as it's more a malformity and well, it would be more humane...than anything...sorry.

will it live is there a way to solve it? I won't do the putting down as its the only female in its litter and my 4 year old sons favorite, it will be easier if she just passed on her own but am concerned of the pain it may be in?

I grew up on a farm, so sadly I agree, your best bet is probably to "put it down". Chickens, like most animals, can't tell you if they are in pain..........
If you are dead set on keeping it.... try to separate it so you can make sure that it is getting food and water and keep cleaning it off.

Good Luck

You can get more hens. Since this chick is constantly fighting infection it cannot thrive. Even worse that it's female as if it ever devlopes ain egg it will have horrid problems...you don't want that do you? If you really really want to try sitz baths for it, but I fear it will be painful to the bird and, like I said...egg..problem...no matter what you do. It's likely a congenital problem that went unnoticed by the hatchery...sorry...I know it's tough...but....I have a problem watching suffering long term..a slow death, tell your children it ran away, until they are old enough to understand....they can name a new chick in remembrance.

She died on her own on a thunder stormy night so i assume that was the cause, as for more chicks she was a 4 hour drive away and i am unable to do that treck again so on the hunt, no of any breeders for Americaunas in the Okanagan area??
