What the heck is wrong with this egg? Why is it so...

small?

She's not a banty, but she only laid two eggs this whole winter.
Is it because she hasn't laid in such a long time?

Eggs get larger over time. If she hasn't been laying her eggs will be small until her plumbing gets up to working speed. The egg factory has to mature over time. If her eggs remain small then you chalk itup to genetics and she will just be an odd lot hen that lays small eggs.

Remember you are working with a biological product. The egg plant has hiccups and issues based on age, environment and other conditions.
