And she does NOT have feathers on her feet. Whatever breed she is, is it normal for her to get so broody three weeks after she starts laying? And how long does it last?
Here are her three girlfriends (just for good measure).
Lucky you! You have a splash and a blue Wyandotte! That GLW seems a little mannish to me, mainly because of the huge comb it has. I have a GLW girl as well as a SLW hen. No HUGE combs like that. I say that is a rooster unless you've seen it lay, LOL
Broodiness just runs rampant in some hens. I had a Buff Orp start laying and in four weeks, she was broody.
Yes I've caught (or bothered) all four of them in the act of laying. So I have a splash wyandotte, huh? Never heard of it. They're all so sweet though I don't really mind.
Does she sit on the nest at night? If not, she isn't really broody yet. Sometimes, they work up to it, on and off, for a month or so. Then the actual incubation period is 21 days. If you want her to stop, keep removing her from the nest. May work, may not.

How long it lasts depends on the hen. A couple of my wyandottes just got done being broody after 3 or 4 weeks. then I've got a cuckoo Marans that would set continually if I let her.

She stays in the nesting box all night. I thought she was egg bound and freaked but whenever I take her out she wanders the yard happily searching for bugs...
