What's wrong with my chickens crop

This spring I had a chickens that looked like its crop was full and couldn't get the food out. When u touched it it was hard. Any ideas on what that could be? It died from this

It was probably impacted crop or sour crop. Sorry .

One of my chickens has this. It started 3 days ago as a soft lump on her chest. Today when I checked it, the lump had gone down quite a bit, but it is still there, and now it is hard. I guess that means that her crop is impacted now. I have read on here that Monistat works well to cure this. I am going to try it with my girl starting tomorrow. I will post the results. I am sorry for the loss of your chicken, but I hope this helps a little for future reference.
