ME, TOO!!! My husband thought I was crazy last time I quietly shut the back door and snuck out to the garden to get some collards. Then, as I was walking back to the door, one spotted me and... you know the rest. And God forbid if I open and close the car door. HAHA!

goats are like that....I cant even feed my chickens without them knocking me down...when my husband is taking the bags of feed to t he barn they knock him down....and I am talking about 50 grown boer goats...they are strong...sometimes they try to eat my clothes off...

ok so i'm not the only one to sneak around so my mini-manchas dont see me? whew!

here is the funny thing. as soon as they hear the door they run right over to the fence and cry and cry like their little goat hearts were breaking... and then, according to the neighbors, as soon as i go back inside those two turn right around and pip and pop about like they dont have a care in the world.... leaping and jumping and running around. goats. what are you gonna do? ha! get more!

I thought I was the only person that did that! I have one Alpine doe that SCREAMS even when her belly is taught from already overeating. She follows you everywhere just begging for food.

I have alpines and nubians. One day a woman who raises boer came to bring hay. My goats were screaming as usual, especially my alpine. And dairy goats have a different physical shape than boers. They just look thinner. The hay lady just knew I was starving the goat. I tried to explain that she had already had 2cups of feed plus hay, so she just couldn't have more right grain now because her belly was already hard. All the while the alpine was following me around screaming and then trying to dig in the feed bin to open it for more grain. You could tell the boer lady thought I was starving the thing. Boers just look fuller and meatier than dairy goats. I finally ignored her cold looks, and was very glad when she finally left.

well boer goats are meat goats and nubians are milk goats...that lady should have known that....people can be so rude.....some of our nannies get those huge fat pockets on their sides...looks like 2 basketballs on each side....that is so unhealthy for the goats

Yup, glad I am not the only one that sneaks!

I have both, dairy (toggenburg and some crosses) and Boer meat goats. I find that the Dairys are worse than the meat goats for screaming, anyone else? My boers are pretty quite in comparison.
Actually we are borrowing a buck right now and he has a sissy baby sound, hardly even a voice at all!
And yeah, the dairys always look thinner, more bony in their backside than the others...kind of like the difference between meat and dairy cattle.

Boers are quieter than the dairy goats. The few Boers I have had never followed and begged like the Alpines. And they seem more stubborn too. They just didn't like to be touched and handled as much as dairy. It's like cats versus dogs.
