Hello everyone, I have a sick hen. She's been this way for about 1-2 months. Shes really weak, lost a ton of weight (despite her crop being hard and full,) she has also has a mucky backside, and has a very bad smell emintating from it. I have put her inside, and have already tried antibiotics, work treatments, and am now giving her some vitamin and mineral supplement. She is really lethargic too.
Any tips will help, thank you!

Can you post some pictures? Especially of the "mucky backside," and washing off the muck first would help.

The first thing I thought of when you mentioned a "very bad smell" was fly strike. Wash her bum, post some pictures, and then perhaps someone will know what's going on.

Here are some photos.

She might have a pendulous crop that has become sour, and has caused a fungal infection or vent gleet. That can cause a bad odor from the vent. I would get her vent area cleaned up and get another clear shot. Vent gleet usually causes a raw red and bare vent area from a constant drippage of urates. Check the vent in early morning to see if it empties some. It should normally be flat first thing in am before she eats or drinks.

Something is going on with her feet as well. A close up of her feet and legs would help. I can’t tell if it is scaly leg mites or what is going on. Are her feet caked with something? Here is some reading about crop disorders:

UPDATE

This morning she was laying by herself. I tried to give her some oil to help her crop and a warm water bath. Sorry for the terrible pictures.
