Whats wrong with my sebright?

He said if she makes it through the night, to give her antibiotics and tube feed. she is very malnourished. I told what ive been feeding her and he says she might not have been eating at all...
Have you tried giving her water with a syringe? Have someone hold her, prop up her mouth and syringe the water. My bird didn't eat either, but she's still alive giving her the water for two days. Then I ground up her food pureed it with water and that's how she started eating.

Also, why do you have to wait until tomorrow to give her antibiotics?

I would tube feed her alllllllll day long. Please do so. But watered down food, obviously. I think the reason vet says to wait one day for the antibiotics may be because they cause some stomach irritation and diarrhea. But she needs the energy from the food to fight the illness and also the coating in her insides to push out whatever is causing this. Otherwise her body is just absorbing it more.

She's still with you, keep us all posted, we want to know the outcome. God Bless.

Seems like she is getting better everyone! I WAS SO WORRIED! and since we fell in love with her we decided not to sell her at the swap meet in november. We're keeping her as a beloved pet. We named her Kana. She is eating on her own better now and has been drinking to. She can stand up longer.

That's so great to hear. Is she on the antibiotics? I guess it's sometimes guess work for vets too.
