What's wrong with this chick?

I just hatched some eggs.. The first chick is 3 days old, and the second is 2 days old. The 2 day old was fine... now it keeps peeping (the super loud peep it does when it is looking for me) and it won't stop unless I go sit by the brooder. It has been doing that for 2.5 hours! STRAIGHT! The other one is fine, and sleeping. I just gave them food and water... it wouldn't let me hold it, it just wants me to sit there. Then it stops. Has anyone ever had that happen? WHY???

It probably has imprinted on you... which is normal. Could it be cold, Did you teach it to drink by dipping it's little beak in water? Maybe you could put a little stuffy in there or like I did ...a soft piece of towel to snuggle with.

They have both imprinted on me... they watch me and follow me if I pass the brooder. They're in the living room, so they can be around my kids and I all the time. I put a baby blanket in there so they can snuggle with it. They have both been eating and drinking. They go through bouts of peeping like that... like if we leave to go somewhere, I can hear them peeping for us through the door. They have done it each night when we eat dinner. Maybe it's just having a rough night? They usually stop after a few min!

I've had chicks go through spells like that-to the point my husband says, "Ya'll be quiet out there". Doesn't work, though.

They're probably OK, just a little scared or lonely(or spoiled

).

i have a hen that was in a brooder in my living room by herself... so i ended up putting her in a small cage during the day, and sat her next to me... when i would get up she would scream for me to come back... so i would let her out and she would fallow me around the house... it was amazing...

I know if I let them out, they would follow me. But... the cats would like that a little too much!

The kids and I have a pen that we set up in a spare bedroom... It's about 5'x5' or so. We sit around the edges and let the chicks run around for a few min. I thought with them being in the living room, they would get scared

Not so! I think these lil girls are going to be the most spoiled chicks ever! Both kids were coloring them a picture this morning, and every time they picked a new color, they would ask the chicks if they liked the color

How am I ever going to put them outside?

That is ADORABLE!
Sounds like your chicks have landed in a home where they will be much loved.
Good luck with them!
