what's wrong with this egg?

The white spots are slightly raised, but can't be scratched or washed off. I'm thinking calcium? The pullet just started laying, this is actually her fourth egg. She is not getting any supplemental calcium other than what is in the food. She is getting regular organic layer pellets, and BOSS, mealworms and scraps for treats.

Nothing is wrong.

I get eggs sometimes that have bumps of calcium but the egg is fine. Usually it just has to do with the one hen. They are special aren't they.

Most folks never see these "off" eggs, with chunks of calcium, wrinkles, and other "imperfections". Marketed eggs are sorted rather harshly so many consumers visualize only grade A eggs.

i got eggs like that all the time from my red sex-link, i think it's just calcium.

Looks yummy to me! Welcome to the "real" world. Regular eggs are "perfect" by selection.... Ours are perfect due to nature.

Seriously though, what the others said. Nothing wrong with the egg, she's just working out kinks in her production line.
