Here's my new chicken song that I sing when I open the coop in the morning.

THEY SAY THERE'S NO MORE FOOD
BUT THEIR BIN IS FULL OF GRAIN

My wife and I have chickens.
Can't wait til they lay eggs and pick em'.

To small to go outside
If they did they'd hide.
I guess that's why they call them "chicken".

Building the coop and run's a pain.
I can't because all the rain.

If I had nice weather.
That would make it better.
Then my wife would be more sane.

But I gotta say, love our flock.
All the Reds and all the Rocks.

So if they behave,
There'll be more to play.
Then I'll have to make omelettes in a wok.

I do, however, babytalk to them .. (except the roo .. I usually cuss at him...

And in the evening it's-

"Good night, chickens

i sing a lot of different songs.... usually at night, just before roosting time. actually, it's just whatever song is stuck in my head at the moment. when ever i go out to the coop, though, i do usually say
"hey chick chick chick chick chicks! hey chickens! hey chick chick chick chick chicks! " and then i greet all of them individually with thier name and a pat, but only the first time i go out. (yes, all 28 of them!). while i feed them, i DO like to talk to them- in both our languages! i wonder what i'm saying when a say "baaak, bak bak bak bak, baakkk!"
