What's YOUR chickens' favorite treat?

my chicken's favorite treats are chopped up grapes and grape leaves, the tender new leaves. They just love them and they chase each other around trying to get them from the others. keep in mind my babies are only about 7 weeks so it's hilarious to watch them and if they catch a bug or a fly they do the same try to chase each other around for the treat. LOL

Cottage cheese. I work at a dairy plant and get it free sometimes, they love it!

My chickens like most anything, especially bananas, strawberries, tomatoes, and watermelon and Bach the rooster is the biggest pig of all. They expect delivery from my hand though....I can throw the exact same stuff on the ground and they won't have it, but will eat it if I feed it to them or better yet, let them sit in my lap and get fed one at a time. I guess I have spoiled them just a little bit. They of course have access to layer food and fresh water 24/7/365. I do give them treats (called "yum yum" in the Stallings household) every day but in small amounts since I know it is important that most of their nutrition comes from their feed. I have also given them cooked eggs, which they will actually eat from the dish, but all other treats should be hand fed according to chicken law. It is so funny...they come running no matter what they are doing when the mommy calls b/c they know it is yum yum time!

I have done my research and I also take DE but it MUST be food grade and mixed in food or water; not good to breath it in.

I give my chicks scramble eggs with kelp and this morning they had pancakes not the store box ones, I make my own with the wheat berry grain that I grind myselfI take 2 cups of wheat put 2 tbls of acv that I made with kiefer to the consistency we like it sits over night to break down the phytic acid thats in the grain PS they love them. Sounds like Im bragging but Im not. LOL

We went to lunch and had shell on shrimp that we didn't finish. Gave that and garlic noodles to the girls and almost invited a riot.

They have also discovered the joys of garden escargot. They have uprooted all of my nasturtiums looking for them!

Good Morning, I am hoping someone can help. We have 6 Chickens and they are 18 weeks old. How often should we feed them and what "treats" would be good for them? I look forward to hearing back from anyone that can help. Have a fantastic day.

I leave feed out for my girls all day long, as well as water.
As for treats, they love tomatoes, strawberries, watermelon, squash and zucchini, cucumbers, swiss chard, earthworms, grasshoppers, grubs, cooked ground beef, tuna, yogurt, oats, leftover pasta of all kinds and lots of other things.

Mine eat meal worms like it's crack!!!
Also they like blackberry's, blueberry's, water melon, I try to go easy on snacks for them because now they come running expecting a treat every time I go near the run or coop. Funny, but they seem to get mad and have even flown up at me if they find out I don't have anything special for them. Spoiled little birds!!!!!

Thoroughly enjoy reading through these posts. Learning SO much too! Was worried about a couple things but not anymore. My fluff bums have just started eating treats. Last week they hated anything i put down infront of them and then all of a sudden they went LOONEY at everything! They love oats, corn (i tie onto ropes across inside of cage with them. Great entertainment!) they arent overly partial to green veg so far...mealworms are a great hit too! Random cereals too! Will see what each day brings

Oh yes i tried lettuce but they got upset tummies so eliminating that.
