Mostly from the food network (cause they make food-eggs!, get it?!?!?) except the last one is a pastry chef I'm obsessed with

Is there a "most common names" list for chickens? or breeds of chickens? I have a RiR Lucy and a buff Orpington named Ethel and I'm beginning to think everyone has that set! ha ha ha
I also have:
Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane, Belle Starr- e.e. pullets
Chippy, penny- e.e. from the first batch
Penguin, Raven- black jersey giants
Desi, Chickie- barred rocks
Georgia, Pidge- cochins
Dolly and Lolly- dominiques

My flock:

EEs:
Betty - Given by DS
Peanut - DS originally chose LaFonda as his name (from Napoleon Dynamite), but she turned out to be a he, so we had to adjust. I chose his new name because he was so much smaller than Betty.

BSLs:
Lorelei - I love Gilmore Girls.
Darla - I gave her this name because she seemed so demure at first. Now she's very headstrong and moody!
Rosemary - Just because
Georgia - Just because

My wife does almost all the naming. She named our cockerel "Eric", and our dog "Layla" (think Eric Clapton and Layla). One of the pullets is named "Madonna". I named one of the pullets "Penny" because of her color. The other 4 pullets are not named because it's hard for us to tell them apart from the others. Who has an easy solution for identifying them? She has the names, but we haven't found easily seen differences in them.

The GCs
Rosebud--originally named Terminator when we thought she might be a rooster but after we realized she was indeed a she, DH named her Rosebud
Nellie--after great-aunt

Blossom--My mother named her because she was the littlest
Arrow--had an arrow marking on her head as a chick

BS--DD named them all variations on the black thing because they're black
Black Beauty
Black Bird
Black Berry

EE--Twinkie--DH just started calling him that

Cochins
Fred Frye--DH's name
Frida--partridge cochin like Fred
Silver--blue cochin that is bluish-silver colored
Shadow--black cochin
Marshmallow--she's white and puffy

Our girls are all EE and are still very young only a few have names, still working on some names, and a lot I can't tell apart right now

We have 3 yellows two are light one w/ a light dark "shadowing" on her tips the two lightest are luna and sola after sun and moon, the little darker one is orion after stars

One brown mottled has "leopard" spots on her head and rules the world she is Leppy Q, short for leopard queen.

A black and white was obviously oreo (I'm a huge chocoholic)

And D'ni, she has perfect cat eye liner and cleopatra was to obvious so shortened "cleopatra queen of denial" to D'ni

Of my 12 hens, only 5 have names. The others look so similar I can't really tell them apart.
"Goldie"'s head and neck are a beautiful gold over red.
"White Meat" had all white feathers while her sisters had red and brown feathers. We thought she might have been a roo at first.
"Brownie" is the only hen with absolutely no white feathers.
"Ruff" has a striking collar of white feathers around the base of her neck.
"Dragon" is very gentle, but her chest feathers are pale brown rimmed in chocolate and look like scales.

If you couldn't tell, my hens were named by my 18 year old son.

I have 6 red sexlinks and I looked for any diff. one has all white around her neck, each one does have a different feature from the others just like their personalities! Good luck.

Butter, a White Plymouth Rock named by a friend who liked her yellow color as a chick. I tried to explain that she would be white as an adult, but the friend didn't follow that and hubby liked the name.

Penny, a Production Red, because of her red color and because her personality endears her towards me as being like an awesome hen I had as a childhood pet who was named Henny Penny.

Our first birds were all named by my kids, and I let them choose whatever they wanted. That wasn't so wise. It's interesting to see how their name choices changed as they grew older, though.

Older birds:
Blackie, crevecouer - the color says it all.
Hawkie, partridge cochin - when she was a chick, she looked like a fluffy hawk chick
Sunny, red cap - she was our only yellow chick
Prince, WCBP rooster - originally named Princess because she looked so regal with the q-tip head gear

New girls:
Bella (Bellatrix), cuckoo marans - named after Bellatrix L'Estrange in Harry Potter (because she's cuckoo). I got to name that one!
Ginnie, ginger-colored EE - named after Ginnie Weasley in Harry Potter
Flora, chipmunk EE - named after Flora in "Flora's Suprise" (it's not a brick... it's a HOUSE!)
River, light-colored EE - spouse wanted something named after nature
Julia, black silkie - just because my daughter loved the name. She was almost Juliet. I suggested Julia, for Julia Child.
