What's Your Chickens names and Why are they named that?

Our roo is named Col. Sanders. He is a silver seabright, so he's wearing black and white like the Col. Then the hens are named: Prissy, Rotisserie, Chicken Little, Ariel, Swiffer, Ozzy, Marilyn and Cassidy. Cassidy has bum leg, so she hops along on one leg; hence, the name. We hatched several chicks and are down to two survivors which my wife refers to as the McNuggets. I believe they will be renamed when they become pullets and reintroduced to the flock.

We still have 4 bantam cochins to name, 2 we suspect are roos, in which case, they will not be staying.

My daughter named all the ones with Princess names, so they are "hers". All the rest were named by me, either for their feather pattern or color or their faces.

I have 40 production reds and because they all look very much alike it's difficult to name them. However, when we got the first 12, one was very tiny and weak and we didn't even think she would make the first night. She did, she struggled, she then hurt her foot and struggled some more and right up until she was about 4 months old she was always considerably smaller than the rest.

Then, she just grew and grew and caught up with all the others. So when she was small and struggling, we called her Jenny Wren.

Now it's extremely difficult to know which one she is.

We went with these because if you add "chicken" after each name, it's a chinese food dish. We have a silly sense of humor here I guess - my husband drew the line when I said I wanted to paint my coop like a chinese food to-go box

All of ours are crossbreeds, so here is the name and explanation.

Lizzy- "Lizard Legs" (green ameraucana legs)

Pippin- Pipsqueak, baby of the hatch (but no longer)

Nutmeg- Coloration (Shades of brown)

Perry- "Peregrine Falcon" (We don't have him anymore, he turned out to be the rooster)

Griffin- No particular reason...but it's a good name! especially if he was a roo.

Our children named them

2 barred rock -1 my 8 year old named Feather and 1 named Robert by the 7 year old( my husbands name)

3 RIR 1 named redbeak (guess you can't figure out why) named by the 6year old 1 named Ginger named by 16 year old and 1 named Doris after Doris Day ( my daughters and i love watching Doris day movies)

1Buff orpington named Scarlett named by my husband (my husband loves Scarlett Johanson) and she is a very pretty bird.

1 Araucana named Amy Whinehouse the 17yrd old named her becacuse of her black markings round the eyes and we had been making fun of her all day.

we had a nugget, goldielocks and a hotwing but they are no longer with us

can i add my turkey? She is named Firkee Lurkey ... Firkee is Native American for a turky and my family is Native American and Lurkey due to the story chicken little

Millie - possibly Delaware mix (possibly Milli Vanilli)

Barred Rock - Calliope(Something to do with a carousel and it going around and around like her stripes- my DH named all of them and he really doesn't even like chickens!)

Delaware - Olympia (Because of her attitude and ability to pose for the camera. She's quite regal)

GLW - Chloe (She's the youngest, smallest and it just fit her. He wanted to name her Tapestry because she looks like one, but I didn't like it)
