possible names for the others: stirfry, spud, hamond for a roo, Apothis for an evil roo, dumpling, noodle, buterball

All new baby chicks purchased last few weeks. Names subject to change based on characteristics and nicknames as they grow:

2 Dominiques: "The Dots" -- Big Dot and Little Dot based on the dots that WERE on the backs of their heads.

2 'Ameraucanas': Lucy and Ethel, the curious redhead and blond

2 Gold Laced Wyandottes: Daisy and Buttercup (the flowers and the chicks have golden colors in their faces - after collecting name suggestions from my friends and discarding their favorites "Thelma & Louise" - no suicide pact girls for my chickens)

1 Welsummer: Mildred Cubicle -- named by my BF because of some online cartoon he likes

1 Blue Wyandotte: Little Blue because she has been the smallest chick

Well in the past I had almost ALL of my breeder bird's named. My daughter named the first of 2 I EVER hatched from egg's a pair of Serama Sonny and COCO and one silkie hen Ms. Fluff.I used to have over 100 breeder bird's lol.DH never got into naming any of the bird's but YES yesterday He named the OEGB that has been super so far MAXIMUS!.It so fit's him.He thought he was crazy Sunday We came back from shopping trip and flew onto the truck roof and then he flew right to my shoulder later that eve.I hope He stay's tame and not like his Evil twin "Buddy".So far I have named one of my giant frizzle's Hawkeye but still pondering name's for the other 4.I would really have to ponder a LONG list to name all the newbie's I go this round. I have named my one lone guinea keet though Physco! that thing is crazy~! Too many ducks this time I just say # 1-29 lol.Oh Baaa 28 We got an Awol drake and don't think he will be coming back.Hope he just off somewhere but I doubt it.Have funn with the name's.I have lot's to name here yet.

We mostly have Serama.
Big Bird, Only name that was pre picked for out first Serama
Fuego
Heilo
Lucky (barely survived hatching)
Goldilocks
Tiny
Red
Chubs
All named by just what struck us as we watched them.

We also have two Bantams
Snowflake (White Japanese)
Monster (Silver Sebright)

i've only named four of ours and they're not really names. i don't name things that i might eventually eat. makes it somewhat easier that way. the names i've adopted are:

walter - BR roo - name comes from the big lebowski
BFC - buff orp unsure of sex so far, but s/he is heavier than any of the other birds - it's an acronym for big f*****ng chicken
big hen - BR pullet - biggest hen of the bunch
little hen - BR pullet - the runt of the group

the rest i call "chicken."

Banshee -Bantam Sultan-screams bloody murder when you try to get her
Lilli -Bantam Buff Cochin-she's sweet and the smallest of them all
Mildred -SLW bantam-I just want a hen with an old lady name-but she might actually be a Marshall
roll.png

Bossy -SLW bantam-now we call her Ossie since my 2 year old can't say Bossy- she runs the joint
Houdini-Golden Sebright-she escaped the brooder room just before the breeder went to the local swap and "miraculously" reappeared the next day outside with the juvenile pullets.

I've had fun reading about names! Here's ours,

Eva - white Leghorn, named by my kids who say EEEEEVAH! (wall-e fans)
Penny - buff brahma, the name is a cliche, I know, but so is she. Apparently the sky really is falling at all times so she named herself. But it started a theme.
Desmond - Golden Comet, or something but so clearly not a pullet! We loved Lost, and he and Penny are in separate flocks, of course.
Libby - a sweet white Leghorn, again the Lost thing
Juliette, or possibly Jules -- a barred rock and two names just in case
Charlotte - Golden Comet, my god daughter, and ok we are lame, yet another character on Lost
Wanda - another Golden Comet, I don't know it just came to me -- I could date myself here -- anyone remember A Fish Called Wanda? I don't remember even liking it, but there you are.
Belle -- My biggest and prettiest GC -- Disney princesses anyone with a 5 year old?
Scarlett -- She was more red but now brownish but I don't guess she'll care. I have been slow to post her photo on the breed/sex forum so I still don't know what she is!

I've been groaning over my reading at the predators and pests forums, and the good new is at least we don't have weasels so this was a nice break! Thanks so much!

My sons (8 and 5) named the chicks after girls they like in their classes, except Zoomie, a GSL that my son saw zooming around the henhouse...

RIR- Ashley
other GSL- Molly
BO- Gracie
BR-Hannah
