I was hired to work for the Bigfoot Research project in OR, but before I could start, my DH got a job in a different state.

I was also an extra in a TV show.

I want to be a photographer but when I have kids I want to be a stay home parent and hopefully homeschool my kids. Kinda far into the future and it’s not really for me to decide but that would be what I would like to happen.
My best friend growing up's Mom was a photographer. She had a pretty good balance of studio work and family time. It can be done, particularly if you can establish yourself in the profession before you start a family and can manage to get by on appointment scheduling and choosing your gigs.

Portraiture continues to be where the money is in photography as far as consistent paychecks goes. I would suggest finding a niche that other photogs in your area are not exploiting, get good at that, and try to corner an under or undeveloped market. Then supplement that with more traditional portraiture, headshots for professionals, etc.

Realty photography can be some good money too. Add in drone service and you can pretty much always have work when you want it.

I work in the manufacturing field but R&D is more my thing. My dream job would probably be some design position within a vertical transportation company (elevators and escalators.)
