mine would be watership down. Absolutely love that one. Not only about bunnies, but also about hunan society.
All the james herriot books(all things bright and beautiful, etc)

I also enjoyed the black stallion, and big red when I was a kid.

The golden compass, the subtle knife, and amber spyglass were good too.

I don't think I could pick a favorite. I'm a voracious reader and usually read about 20 books a month. Many I enjoy because of the knowlege they have given me and others I love because of the vivid images the author was able to paint with words.

The Stand - SK

followed very closely by Watership Down ( so realistic you felt like one of them)
but I will read absolutely anything

Harry Potter series, Water for Elephants, The Watchers (Dean Koontz), Memoirs of a Geisha, Where the Red Fern Grows. I'm sure there are more but those are the ones that come to mind.

The Joy of Cooking

One Hundred Years of Solitude~Gabriel Garcia Marquez...took some time to get into it, but once I did it was magical.

Latest favorite...Animal, Vegetable, Miracle~ Barbara Kingsolver...I have a feeling many BYCers would like it!
