I love fall. I call it "flannel shirt weather". Halloween...carving of the pumpkins..the leaves changing...bon fires...roasting marshmellows..It doesn't get any better than that!
The kids are home, the pool is open, the beer is on ice, bonfires & grilling, the porch swing is in the shade, and of course the chickens are running amok throughout, and trying to sneak into the air-conditioned basement or onto the picnic table!!
I always get sad when the cicadas start buzzing, telling me it's almost over (like they are today
Yep, those cicadas always meant that back to school was just around the corner - it still makes me think that way, even though I haven't had to worry about school for myself for decades, and for my boys now for - wow, that's almost decades, too!
I love Spring! When the flowers are blooming, the days are still cool but are also not too cold. When all the birds are laying eggs and new life is happening.
Also, it means for us to take the incubator our again after a long, cold winter!
I kinda like late Spring better than early Spring, though.
