What's YOUR garbage cost?

Our church is out of the city limits and we pay $20 a month for pickup once a week using the standard big rollout bin. They will pick up extra stuff too if it is left out beside the bin.

For us city-slickers, pickup is included in our city taxes...

I pay about $75.00 and change for 2 months of garbage and recycle pickups. The only time I have filled the can, was after graduation parties. Around here, the only time the town dump is open is on Saturday and Wednesdays. You have to pay $12.00 for a dump sticker, and another $5.00 per small can (2 - 3 bag size).

Okay, you all made me curious about what I am actually paying for this stuff (well, that and I became unemployed this week...) I live in the city and our water, sewer and refuse are bundled into one bill covering a 3 month period. My last bill was $165.53 - $40.57 for water, $59.20 for sewer and $60.50 for refuse. YIKES!!!! Kinda makes me wish I had moved to the country. Plus, then I could have more chickens!

We pay around 63.00 every 3 months for once a week pickup. We live in the county so we have to get a independent collector.

Wow Shelly we are on parallel courses here. I lurk a lot and hardly ever post , but this week you' ve come up with an I gotta post to that topic twice.

This week I cancelled my garbage pickup service. It was handy and the company was reliable and polite, but it was costing me 120+ a month for two dumps of a small dumpster (they charge 60 dollars for one dump of two cans the small dumpster is figurd the same and they rent it to you for a small one time fee). So I will be hauling it to the dump myself. The dump charge is usually 7.50 bag I usuallally get away with one or two bags + recycle (free), way more reasonable, but still high.

The local governnment want as many people as possible to haul thier trash away with them and dispose of it other places. We have only a "transfer station" and the garbage is hauled off island by ferry, on big trucks.

One of the good things our dump has, is a sort of cute little recycle thrift store where you can get rid of / purchase for practically nothing still useable stuff.

We live in the country. I take trash to the dump down the road from my work for free. Well nothing is free it comes out of our county taxes.

we burn alot of ours but we also are self employed so we have one of those big green dumpsters.. They come and dump it once a week. The monthly cost is like 150 $ i think.. but i burn my feed bags and stuff.

geez...we pay $13/month....never heard of a "per bag" charge
