Has anyone given wheat grass to their chickens? I sprouted some seed for fun. The shoots are about 2 inches high now. Can I feed them everything, root, shoot and all?
Thanks

Yes just put it all out there.
Did you use wheat intended for feed or wheat seed for planting? If it was the latter, I wouldn't feed it. Wheat seed is likely treated with fungicides and possibly pesticides.
Barley and BOSS works well too.

I bought wheat seed in bulk from the local food coop last summer and grew it continually for our pullets. I bought both hard and soft wheat, and can never remember which grew better...

I made some basic planter boxes out of 2x4s and plywood scraps from my coop construction. Most days, I would scoop out a chunk of wheat grass, roots and sprouted seed and all. They loved it! I need to get some wheat growing indoors now so I can get them more fresh greens this winter.
