Looks like a hen so far. You should know in another week or so for sure. If the feathers start to grow in darker (especially on the chest) is is a boy.

I've never seen a two week old that dark.but I'm viewing with cell phone

Hi Folks! Things sure are quiet around here. I've finally got my Wheatens together and am so eager to start hatching in a couple of weeks. A few of my older hens of other breeds have decided to go broody and so I'm thinking I'll run some Wheaten eggs in the incubator and see how things go under a broody hen if I can keep them at it. How are you all doing this spring? Bangarang, your chicks look like beautiful dollops of cream.

My Blue Wheaten roo. ( His comb tips were shortened from frostbite before I got him.

)

He has a little red in his chest. I have little experience with this color but I suspect he has too much gold too.
The only hens I have for him right now are Blue Coppers and they have almost no Copper. I am interested in seeing what kind of eggs that their offspring lay but Blue Wheaten hens are what I really need.

there doing fine thank you for asking. I haven't dune any hatching at all this year. I might in the fall. I jave to many roos and tired of butchering them . how is yourflock ?
