Wheaten Maran???

Today I bought this chicken because I was interested in Marans. The lady told me it was a Wheaten Maran. I don’t question it, and like the person I am I just take it home. I’m pretty sure this is not a wheaten Maran. What is it???

Well that's not a wheaton at all and not a French Maran. It could be an American Maran, but I'll look into it.

Were you intending to buy a cockerel? Because that's what it looks like you got.
