ok,
so we are new chicken owners. we started with five baby chicks. when they got older, two turnedout to be roosters, and were rehomed. we then went and got three more chickens from a local person. being new, we broke the rule (unkowably and regretably) of quarentine. after a week moved one of the new ones in with older ones. the other two new ones were too small and were kept seperate. ok...

so the two smaller ones had a respitory infection. one was really bad and wheezing and snot bubbles. the other eye was swollen but other than that ok. went to store and got tylon50 as threads here recommended. began dosing smaller chickens. swollen eyewent down and is eating dring, pooping, eyes alert, overall doing better. wheezing chicken just got worse. would not eat or drink and just stood there with eyes closed. she died on day four of meds. tried giving her fluids but to no avail.

my concern is for original flock. i noticed the new member had a little snot bubble, and started meds. then the next day noticed some original chickens not as peppy. gave all meds as percaution. all chickens seem to be doing better and eating, drinking, pooping, etc. one chicken, melody, who was quiet and actually wheezing, still seems to be having isdues. she is still hiding some and quieter than normal. this is day two of meds. but she seems to still be wheezing a little and occasionally sneezing, though no visable snot. is there anything else i should be doing, i don't want anymore to die. addedelectrolytes and probiotic packets to water.
they free range in our back yard.

also, what do i do wirh dead chicken's body?
