This morning, one of my Easter Egger hens was making a funny noise but I didn't listen too closely. She has been molting and not laying so I thought - great, now she'll probably go broody. I was late cleaning their coop so they were all standing around outside the door waiting for me to get through. As I was cleaning, I started to actually listen to her and I realized she is wheezing in and out plus sneezing. None of my chickens have ever been sick.

I can't catch her but I have a neighbor - whom I am hoping will listen to his messages - who can. I have bedded a cage for her and I have mixed up Nutri-Drench water and some Flock Raiser for her. Unfortunately, I have no medications for my chickens What do I need to get for her?

Thanks so much!

Tylan 50 works wonders for respiratory issues. Are you familiar with the product?

Geez,

I am so sorry - I thought I had replied to this.

Well my neighbor came over that night and he offered to put her down However, when he turned her upside down to stop her wild flapping, something came out of her mouth. Her wheezing and breathing improved. I put her in a covered cage for the night. The next morning I went to check on her. She was making no noise until she woke up - then that awful in/out wheeze. However, she was wide eyed and bushy tailed so I let her out. I got home late yesterday and it was dark. I opened the door to the coop but I could not hear any unusual breathing or noises.

This morning she has "congested" breathing out but nothing like it was. I am thinking she had something stuck in her throat. We think she will go on to a full recovery but she is still weak. If I don't absolutely have to give something, I don't. I will however, get that Tylan to have on hand.

Thanks again for your helpful suggestion.
