I have had a hen isolated on my porch with her chicks for a month now. This morning she was fine, but when I came home 7 hours later there was a noticeable difference in how she was acting. She is constantly wheezing and sneezing. She stretches her neck out and constantly has her mouth open. You can tell she's really struggling but I'm not sure what to do. It came on so fast. Any ideas or help please?

Can you get a video of her? Upload video to youtube and provide a link.

She may be experiencing stridor, this can be a stressful sound they make when they have something struck in the airway. Maybe some food or mucous. Usually stridor will resolve on it's own in several hours, but it would be good to hear it and you may want to take a look inside her beak for any obstruction or lesions.

I don't see anything in her beak but looks like there may be a small white bump on the side of her throat.

It sounds like she has Stridor. Hopefully that will resolve on it's own by morning.

Do make water available for her. If she doesn't seem to be getting better or gets worse, then investigate inside her beak a bit more. I know they can struggle something fierce, so if you have a helper that would be good.

Also check her crop in the morning to see if it's emptied.
