When can chicks leave their mother?

Our silkie hatched some adopted fertile eggs that were give to us by a friend. At what age can the chicks be taken from the silkie and sent to their new home?

They really could leave at anytime. Just make sure the new home they are going to has a brooder with heat lamps ready for them.
