When can ducklings go for swim?

I have 5 ducklings being raised by a chicken hen and was wondering when they can take the plunge. I know they need a mother duck at first to oil up their feathers. They are 3-4 days old (REALLY CUTE). They splash around their waterer a lot!

I start mine at 4-5 days. You just have to stay and watch them and take them out when they start getting waterlogged or tired.

Momma hen pushed open the door to their coop and took them on an excursion in the puddles this morning. No harm done, I scooped them up and put them back. They got a little muddy though! I love watching them follow their "mother" around, it's so darling! I can't wait to see her reaction when they jump into water and swim!
