I have 8 chicks that around 8 weeks and five that are around two weeks. When would it be safe ti pit babies with older pullets?

I am having this dilemma also, but my chicks are only about a week and five weeks old. From what I have heard and researched, it is best to begin putting them together ASAP. Apparently they will get along better. Are they all LF, or are there any bantams? if the two week old chicks are bantams, I myself would hold off until they are larger. However, some people can put older LF in with younger bantams and be successful. What I would suggest is that you try to put them together and see how it goes. If it is a larger group of younger ones, you will be more likely to end with success, as the old adage goes "There is strength in numbers". Another thing I have read is if the younger ones get picked on, remove the dominant ones in the older group, put the new ones in and let them all get acquainted, and then reintroduce the old dominant ones.

But, I haven't tried any of that yet myself, as the five week olds are LF and the new ones are bantams. I will be trying in another week to two weeks. Good luck!
