I've got 8 ducklings which are 3 weeks old. They're currently living in my garage, and I let them out every day, but it's a nightmare trying to get my 3 and 4 year old to leave them alone and my wife is complaining about the smell of them.
How old do they need to be until I can move them to my allotment?

It depends. How big are they? Breed can play a role. Can you send pictures of them and pictures of their future home? Personally I would wait until they are about a month old, just maybe do a deep cleaning of their brooder.

I cant add a picture of their future home as I dont have one but it's quite big and looks great for them

Aw they’re precious. It’s up to you and your family, but I would probably wait at the very least another week, probably 2-3 more, before moving them outside with no heat. If you can get a picture of their new coop, that would be great. Depending on how it’s built they could go sooner rather than later.

The coop itself is just a shed with home made nest area but theres a large space for them to run around with an old bath dug into the ground filled with water. It was already in my allotment when I took over it and I've spent time making it fox proof.

What's your temp averaging day/night?

I dont really know the average but it's hot through the day and it's about 6/7°c at night

Way too cold without a heat source at that age, I'd wait till they have all their adult feathers in so they can maintain heat better and repel water, to acclimate them to the temps you can bring them out for short trips each day, of course, bring them in if they start showing signs they are cold.

Ok thanks for the advice. I'll keep them in the garage for at least another 2 weeks maybe 3 if they dont have their adult feathers yet
