When can I put my pullets in with my rooster?

I got 5 RIR hens about a month ago, and I think they were about 8 weeks old then. I have one very lonely rooster who stands in his part of the coop and stares through the fence at the girls in their part. They're big now, but still peep like chicks. When will I know that they're ready to meet, and what do you think will happen? (Will he attack? Will there be a pecking order fight?"). I'm new to this!

Try it and see how it goes.

I have three month old pullets, two year old hens and a roo all together now. They get along fine and the roo leaves the pullets alone.

My husband says we should wait till they cluck instead of peep... now that is a sophisticated way of timing the event!
