When can i start feeding my chickens vegetable scraps from the kitchen?

Our chicks are about 5 weeks old and I would love to start giving them kitchen scraps such as fruit and vegi leftovers from salads, etc.
When is it okay to start doing this? Thanks!!

You can start now, just make sure they have access to the ground a couple.times a week, or have some grit mixed in their food, and that the pieces are cut up to bite size.
