when can i start treats?

I do not do fat-free or sugar-free stuff. I don't believe aspartame or splenda is safe for anything to ingest. I've always given my older chickens Stonyfield Farms Organic low-fat yogurt. I was giving the chicks the vanilla flavor in the large tub but i ran out and the store only had BaNilla yesterday so i got that and they love it! I've given the older birds the same brand in the kids yogurt before when my children don't eat it up fast enough. And recently i gave them Oikos greek yogurt-also a big hit. I don't think the flavor matters much. So the chicks will just get whatever i have in the fridge.

perfect - thanks! I actually have Stonyfield in my fridge and was hoping I could just give them the leftovers after my 2-1/2 year old is done with breakfast :) I agree - there are no fake sugars in our house!

I have a mixed age group in my brooder currently with 21 chicks ranging from 3-4 days to 4-5 weeks in age. I have been giving them grit so haven't worried about what they get fed. My kids love to watch games of chicken football & will deliberately drop in 1-2 mealworms at a time just so they can watch the chase. I just finished cutting up some strawberries & am about to dump the tops from those in & see what happens
