when can I tell the gender of my salmon favorelles?

I was wondering when I can tell the gender of my salmon favorelles? cause I know that boys are darker, and my babies already have wing feathers?

Sometimes you can tell by the wings. Females will have more salmon, white, and light brown coloring and males will have more black. However I find the most tell tale sign comes when the chest feathers come in. Males will have black chests, females will have cream (some poorly colored ones can have very light brown).

Do you have pictures? As said above males will have black wing and chest feathers although some hatchery females are darker in color than the standard.

I have one who is about 5 weeks old, and in the last week his new wing feathers have all been black. Kind of disappointing - we live in town and were hoping to not have roosters! He's a sweet guy, but might need a new home. That said, yours look not like him so far... hoping they stay that way!
