When can I "wean" the chicks from mom?

I have a batch of chicks hatched in May and are doing really well. I just got them all penned up on Monday, because they were picking corn. I want to let the Peahen mom back out and keep the chicks penned so I can sell them. Is that OK?? She is very protective will that be to hard on them??

They will be fine without her. She will probably hang around the pen and they will call to one another. Eventually she will go bck to her old routine.
