Junior was hatched May 4.. I am now putting Mama hen and baby out each day in the run so they can forage and enjoy the decent weather(Mama duck is usually a free ranged hen) anyways, i only have drinking water in the run no pools or small enough pans to swim in.

When can i add one? I should recall when the little ones last year took their first swim but my brain is mush, I am sure mama hen would love a bath!

I started out using a small dish pan made steps using pieces of left over 2x4 and put a large rock inside for easy out and rest. then went to one of those rubber troughs that you can get at TSC now they are in the kiddy pool with a large rock in it and again old 2x4 for steps. my avatar. he/she hoping latter is 4 weeks old tomorrow. They swim like little fish so all they need is a way in and out they will be fine and mama will make sure warm and cozy afterward. she'll even preen him/her.

I find it amazing how great they do at such young ages without hardly any interference form me.

Perfect! I saw your avatar.. utterly adorable!

Your right, mum is doing a fantastic job and is very capable... I am sure she'd love a chance to bathe with her being locked in she has no access to the pools anymore.

I have a few livestock rubber bowls.. the low pan style, i'll set up one of those... Thanks~
