When can my ducks be outside 24/7?

It is but if you go up 3’ from the bottom and attach all the way around nothing will be able to reach in and a skirt out from the bottom a foot around will keep anything from digging under. Chicken wire Is for keeping our Flock in not for keeping anything out.

What if I doubled up on the chicken wire? I have some left

The problem isn’t that it can be ripped off easily but that a coon or weasel or mink can reach in our get through it so those holes are going to have to be smaller than 1” I don’t mean to discourage you but duck is high up on the menu for all predators

What if it is an inch? Also wouldn’t the ducks run away? What if I bought the cheapest roll and only did a foot or two in the bottom?

If you ducks are in a pen where are they going to run too? And most predators are ruthless they can easily catch a duck. Go up at least 2’ from the bottom.
You said it would reach in. Wouldn’t a duck run away into the middle?

Nope they usually just let the coon grab and try an pull them through. If you don’t believe me go to the predator and pest forum on here and ask. Ducks like to lay up against a fence I see mine doing it all the time.

I wasn’t questioning you. You are an expert and I am not. You said they they will reach in so I would think the ducks would run away but I’m no expert. I’m going to Lowe’s now and will look for cheap hardware cloth to put 2 feet on each side.

2’ up from the bottom. How do you have you run at the bottom? Is there wood attached to the fence all along the bottom or just the chicken wire? Your going to have to reinforce the bottom to keep our any thing that may try an dig in. I know you weren’t questioning me I just thought you might want to talk to some that have had encounters with raccoons getting hold of their birds through fencing.

There is wood on the bottom and the wire is stapled to it
