Our ducklings are 4 weeks old now, at what age should i put them out in their duck house? it's fully insulated and the nights go down to about 14 degrees most of the time now, but i can put a heat lamp in there.

If the heat lamp can keep it between 65 and 70º, they can live out there...but I would sure as heck check and let it run for a few days before I tried to put ducks in.

14º at night still??? Wow. I guess I should stop complaining about how long Colorado winters last

hahahahaha...i think for sure i would have moved by now if it was 14 F here in the late spring/summer!

i've been bringing the girls out during the day for fun in the garden/swimming in their kiddie pool, theres only the trio so i dont have to worry about introducing them to other ducks. they're finally getting in those gorgeous buff duck feathers and are HUGE now!

Buff ducks are a total trip. I had one until recently. I sold her and her boyfriend (a khaki) after I hatched out a daughter from them. The mixed breed baby (Uno) looks like a milk chocolate buff

awww she is so cute! ours are little scaredy cats right now, but are getting more used to us the more we bring them out and have them in the garden with us. they're still not sure about the hen-ladies whose run is close to the duck pen we put them in during the day.

here are the girls...

Mrs Tiggy Winkle, Jemima Puddle Duck, and Mrs Norris...

hahaha..we haven't decided who is who yet, but when they start to develop real personalities and get older we'll officially assign the names!
