When can my meaties go outside?

We put our red rangers outside at 4 weeks old. Only had the heat lamp on in the brooder indoors for 2 weeks. Left the window open and started adjusting them to 50 degrees early because at night we get close to 32 deg all year long in Colorado. They are happier outdoors with day time temps at 45-55. I think people don't give chicks enough credit. They are naturally born outdoors and capable of a lot. We keep there food and water fresh, keep dry pine shavings down and block the wind . They have a roof and are loving life. Good luck

Np. I have lived in Tacoma and the biggest concern I, personally, would have is the rain especially missed with wind chill. Good luck and hope it all works out. I think trial and error creates the best knowledge. There's no "perfect" method for anything

these guys are well blocked from the wind, they are in the second floor of my coop, so up off the ground and nice and dry, under a roof. I keep the window covered till they are feathered out. I have a wrap around run, inside the coop for them, the inside wall is completely open... kind of hard to explain but they get lots of ventilation as well as a good draft break.

Just chucked my 1.5 week CornishXs outside. They are so gross I couldn't take it anymore!! Looking at high 40's over the next few nights. Fingers crossed the heat lamp and a little shelter will be sufficient!

I put my CX outside from day one, they never come inside, egads I can't even imagine what that would be like... they are eating/pooping machines and need space and ventilation almost more than heat.
