I'm guessing the white chck in the above pic is possibly 4-5 weeks old,,,and still not being able to look at the back of the bird,,,from all I can see now it appears to be a hen,,look at it's back closely,,does it have a lot of black feathers mixed with rusty brown ones? Don't let a little 5-6oz peachick get ya down,,use a fish net and catch the bird and get a good picture that isn't in the glaring sunlite of the birds back. Your post 11 pic has a shadow across the back and is in bright sunlite and your pic in post 12 above ot looks as tho the chick is standing on the side of a small hill and it's leaning to one side and you still can't see the back.
Peafowlmom,,was looking in my brooder box tonight at some 2 and 3 week bssp chicks,,,there is now very noticable diffrences in these peachicks indicating to me what sex they are.I can take pics of two that will be opposite sexed if you'd like me to so you can see the diffrences??? I also have 4-5 BSSP peachicks due out in 2-3 days and we could do a long photo part thread on them to show how these color changes comes in.But with my two chicks it will be very easy to see the color and pattern diffrences already noticable indicating what sex they are.
That would be great, I have 3 BS that are all still yellow (not exactly sure how old, I bought 34 peacocks from a fella going out of business, on Monday, and he didn't know when they hatched) and I will take pictures and post them to you and I bet you will notice the difference. What a great idea!
