When chicks arrive at the post office they call?

because I was so excited to get the little peepers and I was already out and about....I called them first!! they said yep we have a chirping box here and confirmed my info and I picked it up before they opened! it never hurts to give them a heads up

mine called at about 10am and my wife picked them up promptly. when she got there the postal lady berated her for shipping live animals through the mail.

she also said that they could have chosen to not call because they don't have to.

True. And like Ranch-hand, it never hurts to grease them up with sweetness. There have been many BYCers who have posted bad experiences with the post office NOT calling.

MPC mailed ours yesterday afternoon and I just received a call that the chicks are on their way to my local post office! They will be there at 12:30!! That was quick! I called the local PO ahead with my cell phone number and home number just in case. So excited!

Sorry that your five got bawled out. The post office lady is most likely ignorant. It's safer to send day-old chicks (who are still living off the nutrition in their yolk sac) rather than older chicks that will need food and water.

We live in a semi-rural area, so our local post office is very familiar with the drill. When our phone rings at 7 a.m. on the week of our chick order we know that it's time to run into town!

we live in a small town, we were expecting the PO to call when the chicks arrived. The PO at the larger town to the North called when they arrived to see if we wanted to pick them up there instead of waiting another day. We have always gotten great service when ordering chicks.
