when did you get eggs?

Again, new to this, and I've heard varying stories as to when to expect hens to start laying. I have 5 production reds who are about 10-11 weeks old. and then I also have 1 black sex-link, 1 white leghorn, 1 RIR, and 2 mystery birds(possibly a welsummer & EE) who are about 8 weeks old.

I admit, I'm getting super anxious to have my first eggs, but

at what age did you get your first eggs?

You are further along than I am ...as mine are only 5-6 weeks old. I heard the earliest they lay is 18 weeks old.

I've heard many opinions, anywhere from 16-22.

I don't know why I'm so giddy about it, I haven't counted weeks like this since I was pregnant with my kids!

Umm - we must be related.. as I have the weeks numbered off in my day planner - and under week 18 I wrote "Start looking for eggs!"

Oh no! I must've forgot to pick a due date!

I'm having so much fun with this chicken thing, and my chickies are some very spoiled britches, we spent almost twice a house payment building their coop, complete with perfect paint edging on each and every corner(because they will notice imperfection

), and they receive about 2-3 hours of cuddle/play/treat time everyday, and that's when they're not busy roaming around wherever the heck they want!

but hey, happy chickens lay healthy eggs...

I need to get better pics, maybe I'll do that this evening. The nesting boxes are in the back, there's a lid that lifts up so I don't have to do much to collect eggs

Cute - Cute - Cute!!! I love the red and white. We have a white coop with black trim....but it has to match our barn - ha ha .... Just started to put the trim on yesterday and found out I do not have nearly enough..

Hoping to get done BEFORE they start laying!!!!
