When did you realize you went full crazy chicken lady/man

I feel soooo much better after reading all of these. I think you are all wonderful people!!!

I can't remember when I first went full-fledged bat-crap crazy -- it's been a while. But, I regularly scan all the grocery ads to see which store has the best price on grapes. My chickens, as well as my ducks and geese, love grapes.

I once had to explain to a helpful produce manager that I didn't really care about the difference between the various and lovely types of grapes he was selling because my birds don't have particularly refined palates.

BTW, I planted Himrod and Concord grapes this year so my future flocks will have fresh-off-the-vine treats.

And, the poultry woman at Bomgaars is under (my) strict instructions not to sell me any more chicks this year, no matter how much I beg. (Luckily, she caved once and sold me two Easter Eggers after the Buckeyes, Welsummer, Speckled Sussex and Midnight Majesty Maran I had already bought).

My grape vines are planted right by the run for easy access.

I guess for me it was a slow fad in. Every year I would add another coop along with some guys and gals. This year I added...

6 Australorps
6 Easter Eggers
4 Buff Polishes
6 White Crested Polishes
and a broody silkie just hatched 7 silkies for us.

So that brings us to a grad total 29 bird this year!!! and my total of birds to close to 50!!!

Here is my recent blog post on the coops that I have and the chicken yard.

When I was considering earlier today how to sneak an incubator into the house for the bielefelder hatching eggs I have coming in a week. :p Even though I live in the suburbs and already own six chickens and have four more chicks on the way at the end of the month. Because three chickens multipled into twenty chickens REALLY fast.
