When did your EE's start laying?

Mine current flock started laying in Feb of this year, when they were 4- 5 months old. I think the time of year may have delayed their egg laying.
Here is a pic of their eggs, earlier in the spring. Bluish, greenish, and a khaki. I can't wait to see what my baby EE will give me in another month!

I have 2 EE roo's that are 13 weeks old... I really think yours looks like a hen... but I am not an expert, just comparing them to mine... here are their pics...

It's much more aggressive/colorful than my others so I've been thinking it's a roo, but it's also my only EE, so I can't really tell if it's a breed thing or a gender thing.

They are all 13 weeks old this weekend.

I posted this in the first time egg thread...

Here's my sorry excuse for a first time egg BUT it was obviously laid by one of my EE'rs. They turned 19 weeks today. I think it was laid by one of the red birds that I call Lucy.

I put calcium out a couple of hours ago so maybe I'll get a "real egg" next time.

I also have one EE pullet about 11 weeks old that has a severe crooked beak and I was also thinking, since she is developing slower than the other 3 that I have, she may never lay. I just hope that she will be able to live a good life. Do you know if this is a common "birth defect" for EE's?

About the OP's question, I think you have a pullet. I had one that started laying very early, at about 17 weeks. Good luck!

I'm going venture a guess that where your birds come from may affect how soon they start to lay. For example, I'd think that hatchery birds are going to be bred for production and green eggs, so will lay earlier. Backyard breeders (for lack of a better term) like myself may breed their EE's to whatever they have in their flock (say BO) who have other good attributes, but may not lay as early or as many eggs as the hatchery birds.
This is just a theory, and one I will be able to test with the clutch I got off of Ebay this spring. My hatchery girls started laying at 4.5 months. It will be interesting to see how early the Ebay babies lay (although I realize that it being the height of summer heat will probably alter my little theory). Just a thought.
