When did your eggs get normal???

One of my chickens(out of two) started laying about a week ago. In that week, we have gotten 6 eggs, all the same size...SMALL . I was pretty sure it was my 20 week old RI white Gladyss. She is bigger than Tweetie, the Silkie/ BR mix (also 20 weeks old).

So I was wondering, since all of these eggs are the same size, will they ever get any bigger? Or do you think they could be Tweetie's, and stay small for ever?


When did your eggs get to a normal size? (if at first small)

Mine got to their average size in a few weeks...but we still periodicaly get a smaller than average egg...and sometimes an enormous one! They vary. Good luck and just be glad you are getting any!

They'll get a bit bigger over a couple months. Mine still aren't as big as a jumbo store bought egg though. It's my understanding that they will get larger after they go through their first big molt.
