When did your loudest hen get LOUD?

Looking at your loudest hens, were they also the loudest chicks in the brooder? (Pullets & hens)

After raising chickens for 10 years, I can honestly say I don't see a correlation between loud chicks and loud hens (except males can be rowdier from the start).

It's when they begin to lay that some become drama queens. I didn't raise as a chick my loudest bird, who was my smallest bird. A very vocal broody Silkie that could screech louder than my roosters can crow. (She did find a new home).

I don't know who my loudest hen is. They all tell me they are laying an egg. Seems like the loudest hen is the one who isn't sure the egg isn't coming out.
