When do Buff Ducks start laying?

We have some Buff Ducks hatched this spring. At what age do they start laying?

I got mine last Fall and they were both laying by March/April, so about 5-6 months? They're also both broody now too.

When your ducklings feathered out, did you notice if they looked laced or not? I didn't notice it with my first four, but this last batch is weird...

They may start to lay in fall but depending on the amount of sunlight, your local weather, etc... you might not get eggs until next spring.

Ours were hatched first week of March, 2010. That puts them at almost 4 months old. We are in southeast Arkansas. Top of planting zone 8. Lots of sunshine and fairly warm temps all winter. We have a few days belwo freezing, but not many. Should I start getting duck nest boxes ready?

You can. Doesn't mean they will use them!
