Over the holidays, we are looking after three hens, Lipsy, Audrey and Vivienne. I was wondering when the will start to lay eggs (what age). If you could post a comment below I would much appreciate it. Thanks..x :)

It really depends - different breeds mature at different ages...and even then individual birds have their own schedule. Generally speaking anywhere from 18-28 weeks is a good "normal" range to consider but there are those who will lay before or after that. Do you know what kind of chicken you are watching and how old they are?

I did some research and by the look of it, they are cross-bred. I think they are about 7months.

Mine started laying at 4 and a half months old. When first laying, eggs are very small. This is normal! Over a few weeks, the eggs will get bigger.
