I’m raising 6 chicks, would like input.

I’ve got this setup to I’ve moved outside for the time being. Brooder Bin is 7.5 square feet and the tent attached to allow them to get on grass adds about 15 sq ft so about 13sq ft for 6 chicks. When can I remove heat source and move them to the coop? Temps get to 40s at night and 50-60 during the day. They’re currently 2 weeks old. I want them in the coop by 5-6 weeks if possible

I'd put them in there right now.

Just toss an old blanket over the heating plate to make it cave like with an opening at the front and position it in a draft free area of the coop.

They will do much better outdoors and will feather out faster. You should be able to pull the heat at 6 weeks old or sooner.

That’s good to know, I’ll be finishing up their coop this week so they’ll be in it asap. Thank you
